Fourth year's projects and Master theses (diplom) are always new. The work is designed on the basis of the interests of the student, of the Ph.D. students, and of myself. I have several collaborating colleagues abroad. Most of those are eager to host one of my students.

Erasmus students are welcome to Trondheim, city of Rosenborg!!

New: Elements of irreversible thermodynamics for engineers is printed by the International center of Applied Thermodynamics

The third printing of Irreversible Thermodynamics. Theory and Applications: is now out by Tapir, 2001

Awards given to my students
I find it rewarding to help each student develop his/her talents. Many of my students have really succeeded.

Anita Zvolinschi received the best poster award at the 14th Int. Conf. on Hydrogen Technology, Montreal, Canada, 2002

ABB's price to Eivind
Eivind Johannessen received from ABB a price for best environmentally friendly, M.Sc. thesis at NTNU 2000.

The results from the master thesis of Audun Røsjorde have been published in J. Colloid. Interface Science. The referee wrote: By using NEMD simulations, the authors present evidence for the validity of the local equilibrium hypothesis for a liquid-vapor interface. This hypothesis is very importtant..Its proof opens new perspectives in the field. In my opinion, the subject is very interesting, and the conclusions are of relevance for the field...

Elfs price to Ellen and Oddvar
Oddvar Gorseth and Ellen Marie Hansen receives the Elf price for their graduation results (Innstilling) at NTNU

ABB's price to Erik
Erik Sauar (center) receives ABB and "Kongeskipet Norge's" price for best environmentally friendly M.Sc. thesis at NTNU 1995 from Queen Sonja of Norway

4th Year Student Projects
Har du lyst til å arbeide i vår gruppe i 4. år?

Våren 2000 kunne du arbeide med brenselceller i skip. Skal vi lage et nytt prosjekt? Brenselceller i skip
Her er eksempler på typiske studentoppgaver fra 4. årskurs:

  • Trond Heldal: Vanntransport i brenselceller

Courses
I teach Basic Thermodynamics (Fysikalsk kjemi grunnkurs med laboratorium SIK3025) and Irreversible Thermodynamics (Irreversibel termodynamikk SIK 3086).

My book in Irreversible Thermodynamics with K.S. and T. Førland has recently been reprinted by Tapir, see below.

Basic Physical Chemistry Laboratory Course
Laboratory course -
Physical ChemistryOur laboratory book in Basic Physical Chemistry has been used as a basic text in courses in Universitites in EastAfrica. It is used at the undergraduate level in our university as a supplementto Atkins's Physical Chemistry

The book Physical Chemistry Laboratory Course has 7 exercises: Partial molar volume. Partial molar enthalpy. Vapour-pressure of a one-component system. Two component phase separation. Transport number and conductivity. Electromotive force. The book can be ordered from Tapir.
